Greetings!

For those of you who may not know, The Corsarium is Altantia’s Nautical Guild. Our Charter states “The Corsairium is a guild dedicated to the research, development and teaching of nautical aspects of history and how it relates to the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA). As we are a Fleet operating within the confines of the SCA, we will focus on the years prior to 1601ce, with emphasis on all aspects of privateering and life on the seas within our period.” To be very clear, we are NOT pirates, all ships within our fleet have a Letter of Marque from the Crowns of Atlantia.

The Corsarium is made up of fourteen ships, including the Tribute, the memorial ship that is burned annually at War of the Wings.

You can recognize us by the black sashes we wear and our badge, sable, a Lymphad argent, sails, unfurled sable and oars shipped, with flags azure, a unicornate natural sea-horse argent.

As Corsairs we enjoy the pageantry of the SCA and some of our traditions include “acting out deaths” when killed and “fighting to the hands” when facing a fellow Corsair on the battlefield. This means that a fighter will refrain from killing their opponent and instead will incapacitate them in a manner appropriate to their weapon’s form.

We are a guild made up of people from every aspect of the SCA and we are very proud to serve Atlantia and protect Her waters.

We hope that you will find more information about The Corsairium within the pages of this website. If you have additional question, please do let us know.
